Terms of Service

Effective 18 June 2026 · Sundial is a product of Timeground

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Sundial (the “Service”), operated by Timeground (“Timeground”, “we”, “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. The Service

Sundial is a personal journaling application that lets you write dated entries, search them, and optionally use AI-powered features. We may update, improve, or change the Service over time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.

3. Your account

You sign in using Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Google credentials secure. Notify us at support@timeground.in if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. Your content

Your entries and other content you create are yours. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you (for example, to sync and search it, and to generate AI responses when you request them). You are responsible for your content and for keeping your own backups — you can export your data at any time from Settings.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any rights;
  • upload content you don’t have the right to use;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, or breach the security of the Service;
  • reverse-engineer or misuse the Service or its APIs; or
  • abuse AI features to generate harmful, illegal, or infringing content.

6. AI features

AI features are optional and run only when you trigger them. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected, and is provided for reflection and convenience only — it is not professional medical, legal, financial, or other advice, and you shouldn’t rely on it as such. Use of AI features involves sending content to a third-party AI provider as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties including Google (Firebase and the Gemini API) and Vercel. Your use of those features may also be subject to the respective providers’ terms.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including the Sundial and Timeground names, logos, and software, is owned by Timeground and protected by applicable laws. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our trademarks.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost — please keep your own backups.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Timeground will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account by contacting privacy@timeground.in. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll revise the “Effective” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and the courts of India will have jurisdiction, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.
